My baby boy sure does love a nice pair of shades

Seriously, I should put together a whole post of just pictures of him in sunglasses.  Also, side note, his favorite color is pink.  Just ask him, he'll tell you.  Take that stupid gender biasing culture, pink is a great color.

Unfortunately he broke these shades about 10 minutes after these pictures were taken.

Been a While.....so here are a bunch

This vest (from Old Navy) is actually a 2T, but I like the slightly shorter, slimmer fit.  The Batman sweater was a cool find at H & M last Christmas.  I got one for both BB and BFF.
Gotta love Carter's for basic cords.  Affordable and a nice fit...very retro 70s.  The boots he is wearing in several of these photos were an AWESOME purchase this fall from Zara Kids.  (Plus it was like the last pair so they were on super sale)
I like the gold chain...he accessorized himself.
If you look closely, you can see the scrapes and bruises by his eye....he tripped and fell face first on some concrete steps...OMG!
This is his super hero cape that we got from the Renegade Craft Fair this summer (and some really cute pants from ebay)
These are his grown-up pants from Old Navy.  The shirt was from the Renegade Craft Fair two years ago.  Again I like the smaller fit on him.
This is the first day of school this year (and his fourth birthday)  he picked out the Batman shirt himself.  Also from Old Navy.
The cutest little boy butt you'll ever find.
Do you think I maybe went a little overboard with this outfit?  I will say he added the boots (from Tretorn) himself....I think they might be what pushed it over the line...
I love this picture.  He is wearing my hat, but looks so much cooler than me in it.

Baby Boy Style

Have I ever mentioned that Baby Boy likes to wear his pants backward?  Well he does...his shoes too.
PS This whole outfit is from H & M.  I really like their basics, and very affordable.

Star Wars & Suess

Though Baby Boy has never been able to sit through all of Star Wars (episode 4, of course) (we have attempted it 3 times) he knows all of the characters. This shirt was a hand-around from BFF (who has sat through all of the movie) and it is being combined with some shorts from Wal-Mart, bought in Tennessee in desperation after he had a big poopy accident while having pictures taken with his cousin last year, his new slip-on tennies from H & M ($8, with 20% discount!) and his Dr. Seuss backpack given to him by his Grandparents, after the like 10th word he learned was Seuss.
I like the mono-chrome brown effect.

Street Rockin'

This picture is from B a little earlier in the spring (it has gotten hot all of the sudden, when did summer creep in?) and I love both the outfit and this shot of B.  He is wearing his skinny jeans from H&M, a pair of classic red Chuck hightops, his Young Americans tee from Pluto, and a sweater I found at a thrift store...I think it is from French Toast or something, one of those companies that makes uniforms for kids.....in fact all of these clothes, except the Chucks, which were a hand-me-down, were bought at thrift stores.  This whole outfit cost under $10. Oh, and the red sunglasses of course.  No idea where those came from, his Dad got them.

Gorgeous Baby Boy

Seriously, my son is gorgeous and funny and delightfully boyish.  I couldn't pick just one pic of this outing at the zoo.  The hat is a sun hat of mine I bought probably 10 years ago at Target; the pants are size 2T from the Gap (I think) but I set them aside over the winter and I think my plan of having him wear them as cute little clam diggers is working out; the sleeveless tee is from H & M, they have these great inexpensive 2 packs of tee shirts, one is patterned (usually a cute stripe) and one is solid.  They are $7 for the sleeveless, $9 for the tee, and $12 for the long sleeves.  I had a 20% off coupon when I bought these, so super cheap and super cute.  This outfit is a little short on the original and big on the big-box, but since it is composed of basics (and items I am recycling for a new look) I think it is okay.

PS The shoes are from See Kai Run, and I got them last summer, and didn't think there was any way they would fit B, but somehow, I think because they are so soft and flexible, they do.

SUPER ?

Not the best photo (and you can see my out of control recycling pile behind Baby Boy) but this is B's floating swimsuit, but he wears it about the house as a superhero costume. That kid cracks me up.

Baby Boy cracks me up. Look at his face in that first picture, I call it his boy face, I know when he makes it he is getting ready to be mischievous.  This spiderman shirt has been featured before, but the various boys in my life (especially his Dad who picked it out for him) geek out on it whenever they see it....I think it is the first appearance of spiderman or something like that anyway.  The pants are vintage, and I sort of forgot about them, but now B is almost grown out of them.

Boys!

I was reading the other day that boys start to develop testosterone at around age 3.....here is my sweet little boy and his friend from school enjoying each other's company.  B is wearing his fave Tea pants with one of his many Super Hero tees and "vintage" Reeboks.

Spiderman hat

B has been very insistent on his fashion choices lately. He definitely picked out this outfit all by himself, though I insisted he wear a hat, any hat, as it was a chilly morning. Lately these pants from Tea have been an almost everyday request, they are getting thin from constant washing.

B and his Pock?

BB insists that this little chunk of wood is his Pock...and why not?  I have to admit these shiny green pants are growing on me, and with the brightly colored tee they make an almost monochrome outfit.  I really like the look.

Singing in the Rain

Couldn't resist posting one more pic of B in his rainy day gear, especially since he looks so ready to burst into song!

Rainy Day Fun

Baby Boy outgrew his beloved yellow rainboots, so I picked up another pair at my fave local joint, Smoochie Baby. These are from Tretorn and B really loves them. He's been asking to wear them rain or shine, but they are a bit big...I bought them a half-size up, but they run large, so he trips a little bit. As for the rest of the outfit the shorts are re-mixed from last year and come from H & M, the coat is a Salvation Army find from several years ago that is just now fitting. All and all a happy baby boy on a rainy day!

Spiderman Socks

B didn't want to have me take his picture this morning, maybe he was embarrassed by the meaningless caption on his shirt? It says "Driving cross country in my truck" I get the red appliqued truck for a boy, but why did they feel the need to add the caption? Isn't the object itself enough to strike the imagination of a little boy? Why do they need to prescribe what he might be doing with his truck also? Anyway, it was a hand-me-down and I do like the red against the blue. Both the shirt and the shorts were originally from the Gap, though I bought neither of them there.

These socks are B's favorites, but they are getting to small. Where do you find spider-man socks?

The Shark

Here is Baby Boy, all ready for bed in his shark pjs (from Old Navy) and to cool in his Daddy's shades (from a guy on the street).

MAD B-BOY

I know posts have been scarce lately (I hear you JW, and I certainly don't mean to keep you from the latest and greatest pics of your grandson!) but this is generally the look and attitude I get when I try to take his pic these days. Sigh. Well he is still a joy when I'm not taking his picture and he certainly loves this Wolverine tee!

PS He picked out this outfit himself.

Baby Boy hates scarves

I tried to get BB to wear this very cute scarf from IKKS that I found several years ago in a sale bin at this adorable little place in the East Village on Second Ave, which I can not remember the name of. Baby Boy says ICK to the IKKS. (sorry for the bad pun, couldn't resist)

"There was an old lady who swallowed a fly"

I don't know why I love this song so much, but I do. I used to sing it all the time as a kid, and when BB and his BFF were babies I would sing it to them all the time. BFF's mom found this tee at Threadless and got matching adult and kid ones for BB and me, though his just now fits (unfortunately, due to a depressing failure to lose pregnancy weight, even after 3.5 years, mine still doesn't fit)

January 22, 2010

B was not cooperating with the style shot, but this is a little shot of B in motion. A friend just gave us this OshKosh flannel shirt. OshKosh has a nice line of really classic boy clothes, besides overalls they seem to have great shirts and tees. I have featured these pants before as well, they were a hand-me-down, and we love them, but we have a little trouble with fit. They have always been too big in the waist and so they fall down....now they finally fit in the waist, but they are too short....sigh....B is getting sooooooo big.....The other day I called him baby and he said:
"Mommy, why did you call me baby? I'm not a baby."
and I responded with what every Mommy always says when faced with that question:
"You'll always be my Baby."

January 14, 2010

In case you haven't noticed, BB's wardrobe has been developing a decidedly super-hero-esque theme. So don't be fooled, this shirt, though it may appear to be two helicopters, is actually the site of a fierce battle between Spiderman and his arch-nemesis, the Green Goblin.

January 12, 2010

I like this outfit...I picked it out and B, amazingly, wore it without complaint, in spite of the noted lack of superhero imagery. The shirt is from Ralph Lauren, though I have no idea where I got it from, I don't know the sources for the rest of it, as it is all hand-me-downs.

January 7, 2010

B picked out this outfit himself. So funny story, someone gave us these green NIKE pants and they just weren't my style so I put them in the give-away bag, however I left my husband and B in charge of getting the giveaway bag to the thrift store and when they saw these pants they thought I must have made a mistake and pulled them out. I guess they are BB and his Dad's style....Sigh, oh well.

January 5, 2010

This Spiderman tee was a christmas gift from BB's Aunt (via H&M). In fact we had a Spiderman themed Christmas, as this gift was in a pile that included spiderman sheets, a dancing, singing spiderman, a few spiderman action figures, spiderman hat and gloves, spiderman activity book and crayon set....I think that was it....good that everybody knows what B likes!

Back to School-January 4, 2010

This was BB's first school outfit of 2010. I thought he should dress up a bit after the holiday. Both the sweater vest and the blue jacket have been featured many times on this blog, but I never get tired of them. (They are both originally from the Gap, though I got them at thrift stores....what does that say about me...that I am classic? or just boring?)

Towel/Cape

This is after bath at our house. BB insists that his towel is actually a cape....so I introduce to you the newest superhero on the scene:
SUPER FROG BOY
